Woolpert is seeking a Project Director/Manager supporting multiple programs in the San Francisco, California area. Primary duties of the Project Director/Manager will be to support facility and utility asset inventory, management, analysis and planning programs. It is preferred that candidates have experience and knowledge in master planning and utility planning and design, asset management and geographic information systems (GIS). Utility experience should include (at minimum) water, waste water, communication, electric and natural gas/propane distribution systems.

Candidate must be highly motivated, having a passion working in teams and with clients, possess strong organizational and time management skills, strong client service-focus and excel in a multi-discipline project team environment. Candidate must have excellent presentation, communication and writing skills as direct client interaction is required. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ESRI ArcGIS software is strongly desired.
Primary duties include:
• Plan, lead and manage utility planning and asset management programs, working with team on various planning and management projects for aviation, federal, state and local municipalities across the western portions of the United States.

• Deliver technical products that meet client expectations. Responsible for workload, financial, schedule and quality aspects of the projects. Workshare projects as needed with other parts of the corporate organization as appropriate.

• Production of preliminary design technical reports and performing master planning studies. Primary tasks may include: managing and overseeing water, wastewater, and stormwater hydraulic models, performing GIS data analysis, developing maps and figures, alternatives analysis, system water quality, energy and operations optimization and rehabilitation studies, and developing capital improvement recommendations and plans.

• Participate in strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation including regional client development, capture planning, and individual project pursuits. Collaborate on Transportation and Design practice efforts with departmental operations, marketing and project management.

• Participation in local and national professional organization(s) and internal practice groups. Participate in Transportation and Design practice and professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices; implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews.
Must have long-term interest in utility/asset planning and management, strong general computing skills, experience developing construction drawings and specifications, demonstrate leadership skills and committed to developing and delivering quality products. Candidates will have interest or experience in asset management, condition assessment, knowledge management, and operations and maintenance optimization.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum Bachelor’s degree, and preferred MS in Civil, or Environmental Engineering and have 8 years related experience in utility planning and design. Candidate must possess a Professional Engineer (PE) License in California. PMP certification preferred, no required. Local candidates in the San Francisco bay-area strongly preferred.
